What did you do this past week?

It was a busy week. Finished Allocator project with my partner and passed all tests on HackerRank. I Reviewed all lecture notes, quizes, and Hacker Rank excersies to prepare for the test. Also, I was working on a hard project for my CS439 class and did some work for my personal projects.

What’s in your way?

Review and finalize some small details left for the Allocator project. Read about File Systems for my OS class which I think it is going to be time consuming.

What will you do next week?

Read next paper, do next blog, do projects for my all classes, and apply for more internships.

If your read it, what did you think of The Liskov Substitution Principle

I think it is a must-read paper for the one who is not familair with the Open-Closed principle. It is a design pattern that keep the structure of the code maintainable and reusable. I make use of that concept in my personal projects which I think is necessity to know about for big projects so the programmer can avoid to violate any rules and the code can be reusable in the future. There a lot to discuss about this topic which I think this paper is just a title for the actual concept.

What was your experience of Test #1

It was not bad. It’s mostly the time pressure for me. The very first question (iterator / template class) was kind of hard since I’m not familiar with C++ but thankfully I could pass some tests. Other than that, I think it was reasonable in length and difficulty.

What made you happy this week?

Besides being done from tests, My whole apartment got renovated and I really like the new furniture.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I found a useful service / website called “Artgrid.io” which has many 4k footages if you are trying to make a pro video and want to include some of those footages in your video to make it looks professional.
