CS371p Fall 2020: Nour Hajjar
Hi and welcome to my blog. This article is meant for Object-Oriented Programming course (CS371p) taught by Prof. Glenn Downing at the University of Texas at Austin. I will start by introducing myself and touch upon my interset in the field of computer science.

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Tallahassee, FL and grew up mostly in Damascus, Syria. I Moved to Austin, TX in mid-2016.
What was your favorite extracurricular activity in high school?
Buying and Selling electronics among students in school.
Why did you come to UT?
Besides the legacy, it is because of its reputation in eduction quality and especially when it comes to computer science. Also, because of its glowing location within the new Silicon Valley: Austin, TX.
Why are you majoring in CS?
The onset of the software industry has revolutionized the way we live our lives. I believe in software to solve problems around us, and the best way to make our ideas accessible to everyone. When it comes to business, I would call it: “the leader of income”. I believe that software will overtake all major business aspects and scientific development in the upcoming future.
Why are you in this class?
As of the time I’m taking this course, I can’t think of creating a software where OOP is not involved. Even though I have some experience with it, it is an indispensable discipline in computer science that will last with me forever and help me build my personal projects better. (Having heard from seniors, Prof. Downing is a legend in UTCS and a must-take class)
What’s your pick-of-the-week?
It is marvelous to think 10-steps ahead and that is what I see when I read or watch anything about Elon Musk. Elon Musk’s new project: Neuralink is my pick-of-the-week.
